Late night dirt…stuck in a departmental meeting all day today. Ugh! Here are a few things that I heard while downing three coffees, two cokes, and two packs of Starbursts while doing my best to look like I was paying attention…

• The “hot” name at Florida A&M right now is Georgia staffer Byron Samuels. Samuels is the former head coach at Hampton and Radford and has been on the Georgia staff since June of 2013. He has also had stints as an assistant at Tennessee, South Florida, and Washington State.

• I can confirm that VMI head coach Duggar Baucom has added Ben Thompson to his staff. Thompson had spent the past three years at UNCP. He has also been an assistant at St. Leo, and an administrative staffer at UNCG and Virginia Tech.

• I have heard Texas Southern assistant Walter Pitts is on the move and will join the women’s staff at UNC-Greensboro. Before joining the TSU staff, he was an assistant on the women’s side at Wiley College.
