Daily Dirt – 4/15/14

Ridiculously crazy day here at the HD World Headquarters. A few quickies to start the day…

• A new name is emerging at Cal…a great source has told me Richmond head coach Chris Mooney is now getting some play there. Mooney has won 208 games in his nine seasons at Richmond. The former Princeton player also spent one season as the head coach at Air Force (18-12).

• I have heard that former Boston College assistant Izzi Metz will be named as the new head coach at Wilkes University as early as today. Metz joined Steve Donahue’s staff in 2011 – he spent five seasons as the head coach at Hobart (69-62) before that. He also spent five seasons as an assistant to Donahue at Cornell (2001-06).

• I can confirm that Jason Penley is out as the head coach at AD at Cairn University (PA). Penley was 7-70 in his three years at the helm. Cairn (which was formerly Philadelphia Bible), is said to be searching for a replacement from a Christian College.
