A few things that I have heard today…
• It sounds like trouble is brewing at Tennessee-Martin. AD Julio Freire is going to hold a press conference next Monday to discuss the future leadership of the men’s basketball program. Probably not a great thing to hear if you are head coach Jason James. I have head that James and Freire are scheduled to meet this weekend. His squad is currently 8-21, and he holds a 37-115 record in his almost 5 seasons at UT-Martin. We’ll bring you the outcome of the presser as soon as it happens.
• I have heard that Clarendon College (TX) head coach Tony Starnes will step aside at the end of the season. He is in his 13th season as the head coach at CC. He was the WJCAC Coach-Of-The-Year in 2003, and his teams led the nation in scoring in 2009-2010 and 2010-2011. There is no word on the search for his replacement at this time.
