Some "dirt" from the JC world…
• I can confirm from two great sources that Dodie Dodson will be named as an assistant at Wabash Valley under new head coach Mike Carpenter. He played at Iowa State and Bradley and in 2011 was a finalist for the Lowe’s Senior Class award. Dodson played overseas in China and has also worked with Team Illinois AAU.
• I have also heard that DaJuan Goard is in the mix to replace Mike Carpenter at Danville Area CC. He is a local guy who has been an assistant to Carpenter at DACC.
• I can also confirm that JD Pollock has been named as the head coach at Central Arizona. He replaces Jordan Dreiling who became the head coach at Midland earlier this month. Pollock has been at CAC for the past two seasons – the team has gone 50-15 (30-5 this season) during his tenure. He is a former player at Kennesaw State and was also a GA at TCU.
• South Puget Sound Community College has hired Aaron Landon as its new basketball coach. He was an assistant at Concordia (OR) for the past two seasons. Landon has also worked as an assistant at Santa Monica College and Marina HS (CA).
• I have heard that Kansas City Kansas CC has narrowed the field to 6 candidates. I have a decent start on the list (I think I have 5 of the candidates). Give me another day to confirm, and I will publish the list.
