Description: | This is a regular, 12-month, full-time unclassified position in the Athletics department at Western Oregon University in Monmouth. The primary function of this position is to serve as the head coach of the men’s basketball team. Responsibilities include the following: Development of a competitive intercollegiate men’s basketball program within a manner consistent with the philosophy, objectives, and guidelines of NCAA Division II, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference(GNAC)and WOU. Management, development, and implementation of all aspects of NCAA DII intercollegiate men’s basketball program including, but not limited to, budgeting, planning, organizing and scheduling, recruitment, skill instruction, and game plan development. Recruitment of highly successful student-athletes who are both physically and academically talented and who strive to graduate from WOU Fundraising, marketing, and promoting men’s basketball and intercollegiate athletics at WOU Monitoring academic performance and progress of men’s basketball student-athletes Demonstration of compliance with all NCAA Division II and GNAC rules: submission of all compliance forms, adherence to all compliance policies and procedures, and attendance of mandatory NCAA rules education sessions.Responsible for all NCAA Division II rules compliance and compliance will be part of the annual evaluation. Attend department meetings Coordinate men’s basketball tournaments and camps in an effort to increase local and regional exposure of WOU men’s basketball |
