I have heard that the search at Fairleigh Dickinson is winding down and there could be an announcement as early as today. The two “hot” names that are believed to be finalists are former Louisville assistant Walter McCarty, and UMass-Lowell head coach Greg Herenda. I mentioned that I had heard McCarty was on campus interviewing on 4/2 (http://hoopdirt.com/blog/a86e9028/daily-dirt-4-2-13/…). Herenda has won 95 games in his 5 seasons at UML. He is a former assistant at Seton Hall, East Carolina, Yale, and Holy Cross. Others in the mix are believed to be NJIT’s Jim Engles and Bryant assistant Happy Dobbs.
