Daily Dirt – 4/9/13

A few quick hitters to start the day…

• Richard Pitino is beginning to assemble his staff at Minnesota. It sounds like he wants to bring his FIU guys – Kimani Young, Mark Lieberman, and Mike Balado. They have to go through the hiring process, but it sounds like they will all join him in some capacity (he may shift some to administrative positions). Word on the street is that there has also been some contact with Auburn Associate head coach Ryan Miller about possibly joining the staff.

• This weekend, I blogged about USC’s Andy Enfield and his potential staff (http://www.hoopdirt.com/blog/7150976d/usc-rumors/…). I can now confirm that Pepperdine assistant Jason Hart has accepted as spot on the USC staff. Also, it sounds like San Diego State’s Tony Bland has been offered the associate head coach position which is rumored to be in the $250K range.

• I mentioned yesterday that Greg Manning will be following Jimmy Patsos to Siena. I’ve now also heard that Loyola (MD) assistant Luke D’Alessio will be headed to Siena as well. D’Alessio has been with Patsos for the past three seasons. Before that, went 199-96 in 10-seasons as the head coach at Bowie State.
