A few things that I’ve heard this afternoon while waiting for the white smoke at Minnesota…

• I have heard that Steve Alford will hire former Wright State head coach Ed Schilling as an assistant at UCLA. Schilling was the HC at Wright State from 1997-2003. He also worked for John Calipari at UMass, Memphis, and the NJ Nets. Schilling has spent the past four seasons as the head coach at Park Tudor HS (IN) (87-18).

• Marty Richter has been named as the interim head coach at Florida Gulf Coast. He was on Andy Enfield’s staff for the past two seasons. It is not known at this point if he will have the opportunity to keep the job on a full-time basis.

• NC State assistant Rob Moxley is a “hot” name right now at Texas Pan American. He has been on the NC State staff for the past two seasons, and was a long-time assistant to Bobby Lutz at Charlotte before that. UTPA AD Chris King was the associate athletic director at Alabama when NC State head coach Mark Gottfried was the head coach there.
