Multiple sources are reporting that Texas Tech and former Minnesota head coach Tubby Smith have reached a deal. Smith was fired last week after Minnesota lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament to Florida. He has amassed 511 career wins with stops at Minnesota, Kentucky, Georgia, and Tulsa. Smith won the 1997-1998 National Championship while at Kentucky. He would replace Chris Walker, who was the interim coach at TTU this past season (he took over for Billy Gillispie in September).
