Daily Dirt – 3/8/13

End of the week "dirt"…

• I have heard that Trent Eager, who was the interim head coach at Alabama Southern CC, was given the position on a full-time basis this morning. He was hired last August just before school started. Before ASCC, he was the head coach at Monroe County HS (AL). He played professionally in Europe after graduating from Jacksonville State.

• It sounds like a change has been made at Ohio Dominican. I’ve heard from two separate that head coach Artie Taylor is no longer with the program. His squad went 5-23 this season, and he compiled a 59-108 record during his six seasons at the helm.

• I blogged yesterday that I had heard Pat Carlisle was out at Columbus State CC – I can now confirm that. Carlisle stepped down to pursue other coaching opportunities – he was a part-time at CSCC while also working as a teacher. Apparently the school he taught at, and his home are 75 miles away from CSCC. He compiled a 160-59 over seven seasons, including a national runner-up finish in 2008.
