Daily Dirt – 3/7/13

Some early morning “dirt”…

• Cameron head coach Wade Alexander has abruptly resigned. Assistant Nate Gamet has been appointed as the interim head coach. Alexander’s resignation came on Tuesday – the day before Cameron was to play in their league tournament (a game in which they wound up losing). They still have NCAA tourney hopes alive. There have been no specific reasons given for Alexander’s departure.

• I can confirm that Anthony Gholson is no longer the head coach at Heidelberg. He had compiled a 53-79 record over the past five seasons. He has also been the head coach at Columbus State Community College and an assistant at Ohio Northern. No word yet on a search for his replacement.
