Daily Dirt – 3/4/13

Some "dirt" to begin the week (and I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be a busy week)…

• An interesting name that keeps popping up surrounding the Old Dominion vacancy is former Georgia and Western Kentucky head coach Dennis Felton. Current ODU AD Wood Selig was the AD at WKU when Felton was the head coach there. Felton went 100-54 during his time with the Hilltoppers. I’ve also heard that current interim head coach Jim Corrigan will get some serious consideration – especially after ODU beat CAA regular season champion Northeastern, 81-74 on Saturday.

• I keep hearing Darryl Prue’s name mentioned when talking about the vacant Maryland-Baltimore County job. The former Georgetown and Morgan State assistant is currently working with the DC Assault AAU and has big-time Baltimore / Washington connections. Here is my original UMBC list: http://hoopdirt.com/blog/935f0fdd/umbc-rumors/…

• There are a lot of names flying around now that it appears Fairleigh Dickinson is going to open. I have heard of at least two Big East assistants that have expressed interest. I will keep plugging away on this one and get a list published sometime this week.

• I can confirm that Daytona State head coach Anthony Andre has resigned. He had been at the school for the last six seasons and went 77-105 during that time (6-25 this season). I have heard that the AD would like a new coach in place by the beginning of April.
