Just a few more days until practice starts – I am fired up! The staff and I are planning the first two practice sessions today. I can’t wait to be back on the court again! Here are a few things that I’ve heard as we prepare for the 2012-13 season…
• I have heard that new Rock Valley head coach Craig Doty will add veteran coach Steve Goers to his staff. Goers spent 31 seasons as the head coach at Boylan HS (IL) before retiring in 2011. He is the second all-time winningest coach in Illinois HS history.
• It sounds like Kenyon assistant Chris Ehmer has been offered the job as the head basketball coach / assistant AD at Sarah Lawrence College (NY). It will be made official once the background check is finalized.
• Carl Richburg has accepted a position as an assistant at Thomas More College (KY). He had spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Mason (OH) HS. Richburg played for the legendary Charlie Coles at Miami (OH).
