A few things that I’ve heard over the past couple of days…
• I have heard that former Providence standout God Shammgod will join the staff at PC as a student undergraduate assistant. Shammgod played for the Friars from 1993-1997 and was the 45th pick in the 1997 NBA draft (Washington). He played professionally in the US and overseas until 2009.
• Guilford Technical Community College has hired Kirk Chandler as the new head basketball coach. He has previously been the head coach at Averett University (VA) and Blackburn College (IL), and served as an assistant at UNCG, St. Andrews Presbyterian College and Barton.
• Former Mount Vernon Nazarene University and Nyack College head coach Scott Flemming has been named as the head coach for the Indian National Team. He had spent the past two seasons as an assistant for the Texas Legends of the NBA D-League. He holds a 440-273 record in 22-seasons as a head coach.
• Joe Flegler has been hired as a GA at Thomas University (GA). He is a Savannah State alum who has played professionally with stops in Quebec and Peru.
