Daily Dirt – 9/13/12

Some things I’ve heard while we wait for Jim Calhoun’s 2:00 presser…

• Asbury College has hired Brock Hurtle as an assistant. Hurtle recently graduated from Asbury where he was a four year letter winner for head coach Will Shouse. He replaces Matt Botner who departed this past spring to become the head coach at Ballard Memorial HS (KY).

• Phone interviews for the vacant Warren Wilson (NC) job are underway. It sounds like they will conduct on-campus interviews shortly after the phone interviews are complete, and would hope to have a new hire in place by October 1st.

• I can confirm that WPI assistant Anthony Leonelli is on the move, and will become an assistant at Rhode Island College. Leonelli had been on the WPI staff for one season – he spent the previous six as an assistant at Wentworth Institute of Technology (MA).

• Seminole State College (OK) head coach Tom Mills has resigned and will become the Dean of Instructional Compliance at the college (putting his PHD to good use)! I can confirm that assistant coach Ryan Quinn will be named as the new head coach. Before his time at Seminole, Quinn was a GA at Central Oklahoma.
