There are six finalists in the running to replace Matt Cross at Lamar State-Port Arthur. Interviews begin today (4/27) and will run through next week. The committee is hopeful to have an announcement by May 8th. The six finalists are (day of interview in parenthesis):

• Steve Tucker –Former Head Coach Southeast Texas Mavericks (ABA) [Friday 4/27].

• Kristopher Baumann – Head Coach Garden City CC [Monday 4/30].

• John Meeks – Head Coach Wallace State [Tuesday 5/1].

• Chris Beard – Head Coach South Carolina Warriors (ABA) – former assistant at Texas Tech [Wednesday 5/2].

• Carl Nash – Former Associate Head Coach Georgia Southern – most recently served pro head coach in Qatar [Thursday 5/3].

• Lance Madison – Assistant Coach Oklahoma City University [Friday 5/4].
