Southern Mississippi is going to be conducting interviews today and tomorrow in New Orleans. From a combination of great sources, here are the candidates that I believe will be interviewing.

• Steve Barnes – Associate head coach Southern Mississippi

• Phil Cunningham – Former Assistant Coach Mississippi State

• Kermit Davis, Jr. – Head Coach Middle Tennessee State

• Tim Floyd – Head Coach UTEP

• Greg Heiar – Assistant Coach Wichita State

• Jay Ladner – Head Coach Oak Grove High School (MS)

• Doc Sadler – Former Head Coach Nebraska

• Sean Woods – Head Coach Mississippi Valley State

Also, I have heard different things on former New Mexico State / Sacramento Kings head coach Reggie Theus – one camp says he’s definitely getting an interview – another says he’s not. I’m definitely interested to see how the next few days play out in the Big Easy.
