Former Boston College head coach Al Skinner has found his next coaching gig. According to multiple people close to the situation, he will become a volunteer coach with the Boston Amateur Basketball Club. The BABC is one of the top AAU organizations in the country and this gives Skinner a good opportunity to work with some of the best up-and-coming basketball players in New England. Skinner holds 385-291 career record as a head coach (13 seasons at BC, 9 at URI). He was also a teammate of Dr. J at UMass and played for six seasons in the ABA (winning the ABA title in 1975-76 with the Nets). Five-Star recently named the BABC as the #1 summer program of the year (http://fivestarbasketball.com/articles/08-17-2011-2011-summe…). This seems like a great addition for an already strong program.
