Another crazy Monday in college basketball coaching circles….
In case you missed my "Daily Dirt" blog from this morning, here it is: http://www.hoopdirt.com/blog/3a0050d0/the-dirtkings-quotdail…
There were a bunch of juicy items in there.
Here are some things that I’ve heard since then…
Look for Tennessee to name Houston Fancher as the interim head coach while the Vols search for a replacement for Bruce Pearl. Fancher was the head coach at Appalachian State from 2000-2009. He has spent the past two years at UT and spent the past season as the coordinator of video scouting. Assistant coaches Jason Shay, Steve Forbes and Tony Jones have all been relieved of their duties.
I mentioned earlier that South Dakota State head coach Scott Nagy was in the mix at Northern Illinois. It looks like Michigan State associate head coach Mark Montgomery is also involved. He was scheduled to meet with NIU officials this past weekend.
Still a fluid situation at Arkansas. While I said earlier today that some were reporting that Mike Anderson was a done deal, that may not be the case. It appears that Missouri may be trying to sweeten his deal to have him remain a Tiger. I have no idea when or how this one will play out!
