I’ve only heard two "legit" names so far for Florida Gulf Coast. There is a 3rd "super secret" candidate, but I’ll hold off on that one until I can confirm it. The two I’ve heard so far are:

Jim Les – Former head coach at Bradley. FGCU AD Ken Kavanagh was the AD at Bradley and hired Les there.

Steve Merfield – Assistant coach at Creighton. Former head coach at Hampton and Evansville. Was an assistant at Bradley for three seasons, including back-to-back 21 win campaigns.

There is a 3rd candidate that has a connection to Kavanagh (hint: they share the same Alma Mater), but more on that if it becomes more serious.

I just spoke to someone insanely close to the situation who told me that Les and Kavanagh have talked, but have decided not to pursue this any further.
