Just to follow up on a blog from earlier in the week – to quote myself (a bit arrogant perhaps?):
"Speaking of Arkanas, I’ve heard from a great source that a DII coach in the state has just told his team that he is being forced to resign. More on this when it becomes official."
It is now official – Henderson State’s Sam Weaver is out as the head coach, but will continue to be employed at the University. He will be responsible for instruction of physical education courses, academic advisement of student-athletes, fundraising for the athletics department, and other special projects.
Weaver went 46-92 in 5 seasons at HSU. He is also a former DI head coach at Northern Iowa and Alcorn State.
A national search for his replacement will be conducted.
