Here are a few things that I heard over the weekend…..

Former Evansville and Hampton head coach Steve Merfeld is close to joining Greg McDermott’s staff at Creighton. Merfeld was an assistant at Bradley last year (he resigned mid-way through the season).

New Dartmouth head coach Paul Cormier is close to finalizing his staff. It sounds like former James Madison head coach Sherm Dillard and Michigan GA Patrick Beilein are the top choices here.

Speaking of GA’s, I’ve heard that former Holy Cross assistant Mark Daignault will be joining Billy Donovan’s staff at Florida in some type of graduate role. Daignult was an assistant at HC under both Sean Kearney and Ralph Willard.

Arkansas-Monticello is going to announce their new head coach today. My sources are telling me the choice will be Wallace State (AL) head coach Allen Sharpe. Sharpe is 120-15 in the past 4 seasons at Wallace St., including a 32-5 record this season. He would replace Mike Newell who resigned last month.
