Shorter University Job Description Summary: Shorter University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach. The Head Coach is responsible for the administration and overall operation of Shorter University NCAA Division II men’s basketball program. Duties include, but are not limited to, the recruitment of qualified prospective student-athletes, supervision of assistant coaches and any pertinent graduate assistant staff, on-court coaching, program management including travel, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, budget management and equipment management, and compliance with all NCAA Division II, Gulf South Conference and institutional rules and regulations. The Head Coach must maintain working relationships with administrators and staff in all campus departments as well as members of the media, donors, and other friends of the program. Reports to the Director of Athletics. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Three (3) years coaching experience at the college or university level The ability to organize, communicate effectively, recruit, and implement a competitive Division II program Recommended Qualifications: Master’s degree Successful coaching experience on the collegiate level Demonstrated ability to recruit and coach high level student-athletes
