The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach is responsible to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach as well as the Director of Athletics for the performance of the duties that this job description assigns.
DUTIES
Responsible for assisting with the management and development of the intercollegiate men’s basketball program including:
Recruitment of PSAs
On-Court coaching and instruction
Opponent scouting, including video edits and scouting reports
Discipleship of men in the program
Responsible for management and development of all aspects of a collegiate JV men’s basketball program including but not limited to:
Planning, oversight and administration of the JV budget.
Organizing, planning and scheduling of all practices and competitions.
Recruiting and retaining quality student-athletes.
Review and respond to all correspondence from PSAs and other requests for info about your program and the athletic department.
Monitoring academic performance of student-athletes.
Promoting intercollegiate athletics and ensuring program compliance with our affiliates and Covenant College.
Responsible for an athletic administrative role within the Athletic Department. This position will be assigned by the Director of Athletics at the beginning of each academic year once all primary staff positions have been determined.
