Cairn University is currently seeking an assistant basketball coach for the 2014-2015 season. The assistant coach will work under the direct supervision of the Head Coach and under the general supervision of the Director of Athletics. The essential duties include but are not limited to:
– Recruiting student-athletes who fit the mission of the school.
– Assist in planning and conducting team practices.
– Preparing scouting reports for upcoming opponents.
– Work with Head Coach in developing starting line-ups, game strategies, individual workout and practice activities for various student athletes.
-Serve as a role model for the student athlete by exhibiting ethical and professional conduct.
-Know and abide by the rules and policies of the University and NCAA.
-Monitor academic success of the student athletes.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree required
-Minimum of 2 years of coaching experience
-Experience competing in basketball at the college level, preferred.
– Person of Christian faith
-Agree with the mission of the school which is "Cairn University exists to educated students to serve Christ in the church, society, and the world as biblically minded, well-educated, and professionally competent men and women of character."
