Maine Maritime is a member of NCAA Division III competing in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Recreation, the successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and directing all aspects of a successful and competitive Division III program, including, but not limited to: monitoring and promoting the academic and personal growth of the program’s student-athletes, recruiting and retaining the roster, developing and managing the program’s budget, operating the program in a manner that is compliant with NCAA and NAC rules, and developing and maintaining alumni support for the program. The ability to supervise assistant coaches and student-employees is essential.
The successful candidate will have an athletics philosophy consistent with the academic mission of the institution and the Department of Athletics and Recreation. Additional responsibilities include a secondary duty as well as other duties as assigned. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) and a minimum of five years of coaching on the collegiate level.
