1.Provides supervision and coaching in intercollegiate competition in the capacity of Head Coach in a sport.
2.Monitors the academic progress of team members, and arranges for appropriate guidance and/ or assistance to contribute to the academic success of student athletes.
3.Directs training and practice programs for the team(s).
4.Recruits student athletes for the College teams(s) with a focus on our service district area.
5.Responsible for evaluating, developing schedules of work, monitoring and approving time sheets for the assistant coaches or student employees or assigned athletic workers.
6.Teaches skills and strategies to student athletes in practice, for use in intercollegiate competition.
7.Oversees and controls the use of athletic facilities as assigned.
8.Directs and controls the maintenance of appropriate team conduct during competition, travel, practice, college events and at any other times when the team is representing the College.
9.Maintains and controls equipment assigned for team use.
10.Scouts opponents when appropriate.
11.Maintains appropriate records of individual and team statistics and records as required.
12.Works with the Manager of Athletics to develop, monitor and maintain budget for program.
13.Coordinates with athletic staff to arrange for team travel arrangements within given parameters for budget and timing considerations.
14.Develops and maintains an informational relationship with external media representatives, and provides positive support for the College’s sports information efforts.
15.Maintains awareness of and ensures personal and team compliance with all relevant College, NJCAA and OCCAC rules.
16.May drive rental vans or vehicles to and from team activities, or arranges for qualified drivers, as appropriate. Must be able to meet and maintain College guidelines or insurance guidelines for driving rental vans or vehicles.
17.May be responsible for practice and game event set-up and tear down of court, field or practice site equipment and needs.
18.Attends staff meetings and various other meetings, games, contests or college events as assigned.
19.Performs other related duties as required.
