The Culinary Institute of America is currently seeking candidates for the part-time position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach.
The CIA is a non-NCAA affiliated program that competes in the Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference whose members include: The Cooper Union, Webb Institute, Pratt Institute, St. Joseph’s College of Brooklyn, Berkeley College, Sarah Lawrence College, Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, Vaughn College of Aeronautics, and Yeshiva University.
The position involves management, direction, and oversight of the entire basketball program including coaching, practice and game plan management, player recruitment on campus, supervision of student manager and volunteer coaches (if applicable), consultation with administration on game scheduling, and other management logistics needed for the program. The successful candidate must be able to travel with the team for all weekend games and tournaments (no weekday games) and be available to operate practices held three nights during the week from 9:15 until 11:30 p.m. The season runs from October 1 through the third week of February. The team plays a 14 to 15 game regular season schedule in addition to the post-season tournament.
