Busy day so far today – here’s Round II of the Dirt…
- I have now heard from multiple sources that Lander University (SC) head coach Jeff Burkhamer is the leader for West Florida. He has been the head coach at Lander since 2009, and was also the head coach at Armstrong (GA). Sounds like we will hear something official very shortly.
- Southern Indiana assistant coach Gerad Good is the “hot” name at Manchester (IN) right now. Good played for Steve Alford at Manchester and is a former assistant to Dane Fife at IPFW. Another one that sounds like it could be made official shortly.
- Earlier today I mentioned that former Fordham assistant Tom Parrotta had joined Sydney Johnson’s staff at Fairfield. It now sounds like Johnson has completed his staff with the hiring of former Siena head coach Mitch Buonaguro. From 1985-1991, Buonaguro was the head coach at Fairfield after an eight year stint as an assistant to Rollie Massimino at Villanova. Parrotta was also the head coach at Canisius, so it appears Johnson has added two veteran DI head coaches to his staff.
- Sounds like Bucknell is down to 5 or 6 candidates in the search to replace Dave Paulsen. Interviews should wrap up by the middle of the week. I have a pretty good list on this one. Will get it up shortly.
