Coaching:
Under the general direction of the Vice President of Students Services and Dean of Instruction and in conformance with all State, League and District policies and regulations: Provide direction for all facets of a successful college basketball program, including the selection and direct supervision of assistant coaches and the general supervision of other support staff (trainer, equipment manager, etc.); develop and implement a strong student/athlete recruitment program for basketball, including the recruiting assignments of all assistant coaches, as appropriate; assist in building strong relations between the community and the athletic department, particularly with the high schools of the district; and, assist student athletes completing their academic requirements to transfer to four year institutions or to obtain Associate Degrees, certificates or AD-T degrees.
Teaching:
Include teaching and developing courses in physical education and health education. Must have the ability to safely lift/move and operate all equipment in the weight room and in other athletic activities. May work on health related programs for students. Serve on college and district committees; evaluating adjunct instructors, and collecting data on student learning outcomes; and, all duties and responsibilities required of a full-time instructor as required by Administrative Regulation 7122. Duties may include assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evening, Saturdays, online or off-campus.
