The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Langston University, an NAIA Division I institution in the Red River Athletic Conference, is a position of great responsibility and will most likely prove to be highly demanding.

Job Duties and Responsibilities as the new Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach include, but are not limited to:

• Perform duties as assigned by the Head Coach
• Assist the head coach in the planning and operation of the men’s basketball program
• On-court instruction, assist with practice and game preparation as assigned
• Evaluate performances, make recommendations to the head coach regarding individual participation in games
• Identify, evaluate, recruit, encourage, and eventually develop student-athletes for Langston University
• Perform all duties in accordance with the policies set forth by the Red River Athletic Conference, NAIA, and Langston University
• Quickly develop a thorough knowledge of NAIA rules and procedures
• Active involvement in community service activities
• Daily maintenance and upkeep of the men’s locker room within the CF Gayles Fieldhouse
• responsible for the daily maintenance and upkeep of all basketball equipment
• Serving as the point of contact in assuring academic success of student-athletes, including scheduling and monitoring study hall and other academic sessions
• Film upload to GTX, film break-down, and conducting film sessions
• Other duties as assigned
