The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach is responsible for educating and preparing the student athletes for intercollegiate competition. Along with supporting the Head Coach in the recruitment of players, planning, organization, and administration of the men’s basketball program. This is a 12 month position.

Responsibilities

Adhere to all NCAA, conference, and institutional guidelines, policies, and rules
Demonstrate leadership and professional behavior when dealing with student-athletes
Maintain positive constructive working relationships with student-athletes, athletics department coaches and staff, and all members of the College community
At all times promote the Men’s Basketball program in a positive way
Recruiting (35%)
ACS software usage to submit and update recruit information
Corresponding via mailings, phone calls, ACS software and emails
Scheduling and setting up recruit visits
Attending off campus recruiting events
Working with admissions office to recruit student athletes
Men’s Basketball Team Coaching & Education (50%)
Support practice planning and on-the-field coaching
Individual & small group coaching sessions
Strength training & education sessions
Nutrition & injury prevention
Speed & agility improvement
Fitness & strength training
Oversee academic, moral, ethical and athletic development of the student-athletes ? personal & team meetings
Match preparation team meetings
Game day meetings, coaching, post-game debrief
Film breakdown and review ? preparation for team meetings
Team film sessions & meetings
Participation in community service events
Men’s Basketball Team Administration (7%)
Support head coach in setting game and practice schedule
Support head coach supervise team during away contests
Organize and participate in fund-raising activities
Support the head coach with organization of community service events
Game management and other administrative tasks assigned by the athletic department administration (8%)
Yearly NCAA rules test participation
