The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in the management of the men’s basketball program including assisting with on court coaching, recruitment of qualified prospective student-athletes, travel planning, academic supervision, film exchange, assisting in fundraising efforts, assisting in community outreach projects, team promotion and other daily projects as assigned by the Head Coach.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time while coaching outdoors.
• Working beyond a normal 40-hour week is a definite including nights and weekends. Travel and irregular work hours are required.
• Must have and maintain a clear driving record in order to be insurable under HSU liability policy
• Occasional moderate lifting (20-25 pounds) required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have undergraduate degree, graduate degree preferred
• Previous coaching experience, college level preferred.
• Strong work ethic and past NCAA Division III recruiting experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Coaching – On Court practice and Game Assistance
• Recruiting – Telephone calls, attendance at tournaments and games as well as letters and written correspondence to potential student athletes / Planning and executing campus visits for recruit
• Travel Planning – Arranging lodging, buses, meals and practice times at opponent sites
• Scouting-total preparation.
• Film Exchange – online according to rules of the American Southwest Conference
• Perform other duties as assigned
