Very quietly, a coaching change has been made at NAIA DII Point Park University (PA). Long-time head coach Bob Rager was replaced earlier this month by assistant coach Gabe Bubon. Rager had been the head coach at Point Park for the past 27-seasons and collected 368 victories during his tenure. Bubon, who has been an assistant at PPU for 12-seasons, told the Tribune Chronicle “Bob Rager, who was the head coach, he’s just not there right now. We kind of knew this was going to happen, but it’s really weird because there’s no good way to explain it. We’re not supposed to talk about it.” Bubon also added, “We thought it was going to be a leave of absence. That’s what I thought it was, but they’re not saying right now. They’re just saying that I’m the interim head coach, and that’s what we’re going to roll with.”
