Following his second arrest in two seasons, Marshall University assistant basketball coach Chris Duhon has resigned. Marshall University officials issued the following statement:
“Assistant men’s basketball coach Chris Duhon has resigned his position, effective immediately. As this is a personnel matter, the department will have no further comment.”
The former Duke guard has been on Dan D’Antoni’s staff since 2014. A member of the Blue Devils 2001 National Championship team, Duhon played for the Bulls, Knicks, Magic, and Lakers over his nine seasons in the NBA.
A HoopDirt.com Twitter poll over the past two days revealed that 32% of respondents felt that Duhon should resign. 53% of voters thought that he should be fired, while 9% voted for him to be reinstated from his suspension.
There is no word yet as to what D’Antoni will do with his vacant assistant position.
