The department of Intercollegiate Athletics at The Apprentice School invites applications for qualified individuals to serve as its Head Men’s Basketball Coach. The Head Coach is responsible for initiating various aspects of the Men”s Basketball program, such as recruiting, scheduling opponents, training, and coaching team members. The Head Coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by The Apprentice School.

Summary of essential job functions: Duties and responsibilities: Direct all aspects of the coaching and management of the men’s basketball program. Demonstrate a working knowledge of and ability to comply with the rules and regulations of the NCAA and other affiliated organizations. Operate the men’s basketball program within its established budget. Work with athletic training and strength and conditioning staffs in developing and implementing off-season conditioning programs. Supervise and develop assistant basketball coaches. Oversee the conduct of and provide general counsel on academic and craft training progress to team members. Promote the general health and safety of team members. Construct the game schedule with the approval of the Director of Athletics. Recruit highly qualified student-athletes consistent with the standards of a competitive NCAA Division III men’s basketball program and the craft and academic standards of the apprenticeship program. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. Provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes.
