I have heard from great sources that Western Kentucky assistant coach Nikita Johnson has become assistant at Austin Peay. He will replace Rick Cabrera who departed for Arkansas State earlier this spring.

Johnson had been at WKU for the past two seasons. The veteran assistant has also worked at Stetson, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, LSU, Murray State, Duquesne, Tennessee State and New Orleans.

Quick note: this sounds like it’s not the only WKU staff departure, and I believe I have the two new hires. Will confirm and post shortly.
