Mount St. Mary’s University men’s basketball coach Jamion Christian has announced a pair of additions to his staff. Harley Fuller will be joining the Mountaineer staff as Director of Scouting and Analytics while Mike Wolf will be a graduate assistant.
Fuller joins the Mountaineers after serving as head coach of the Albany City Rocks AAU Under-17 team last season. He spent the previous two years as head coach at Mayfield High School. Fuller played professionally five seasons in Germany and Argentina, averaging 15.2 points and 5.5 assists over that span. He scored more than 1,500 points and dished out 550 assists over his career.
Fuller averaged 10 points and six assists as a senior at Molloy College. He began his playing career at SUNY Cobleskill Junior College, helping lead the team to the 2008 NJCAA Final Four while becoming the school’s all-time assist leader (439). He transferred to Florida International before a coaching change led him to Molloy.
He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sport Management at the Mount and is a graduate of Excelsior College.
“We have been blessed here at the Mount with the ability to hire tremendous people who consistently make our program better each day,” said Christian. “Over the past few years I had the opportunity to work with Harley on a few projects and I was always amazed at not only his work ethic, but also how in depth he was able to go inside the numbers. A season ago we had a historic year here and Harley worked behind the scenes game in and game out to help us be at our best. I am really appreciative of him and his family making a commitment to the Mount by joining our staff. He has experience in all aspects of basketball and we are excited to see the impact that he will make here.”
Wolf joins the Mount as a graduate assistant after spending the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Emory & Henry College. Last season, he helped lead the Wasps to their first 20-win season in 24 years, and to the ODAC Tournament championship game for the first time in 23 years.
During his first year, Emory & Henry went 16-12 while reaching the conference semifinals. Prior to his time at Emory & Henry, Wolf was a three-year captain and the valedictorian for his class at William Peach University in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was a member of William Peace’s first-ever men’s basketball team in 2012-13, and he led the team to a second-place finish as a senior. He started 55 consecutive games, and led the USA South and was second in NCAA Division III in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.8), as a senior.
A standout in the classroom as well, Wolf achieved a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in political science. He was named to the USA South Academic All-Conference team three seasons, and was a 2014-15 CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree.
“Mike comes to us from one of the best coaching tree’s in maybe all of college basketball, Emory & Henry,” said Christian. That coaching tree includes Jimmy Allen (Army), Nathan Davis (Bucknell), Jarell Christian (OKC Blue) Mike Young (Wofford) and Jon Coffman (IPFW). We are always looking for the next person who can help our program continue to make progress on a day to day basis, and Mike is exactly the person we needed at the right time. To be able to add someone into our graduate assistant spot with successful college coaching experience shows the progress we’ve made here over the past five seasons. To say that I am beyond thrilled to have him join our staff would be an understatement.”
