The intern will assist the basketball division with daily administrative duties, NBA draft and free agency preparation, off-season responsibilities and other tasks as assigned. Other tasks may include, but are not limited to, statistical research and analysis, salary cap updates, entering data into the personnel database, league-wide depth chart maintenance, and additional duties as assigned by the Basketball Operations staff. This position will report directly to the Coordinator of Basketball Operations and is responsible for assisting with projects for the Operations, Executive, Scouting, and Analytics departments.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assisting with administrative needs (i.e. scheduling, filing, distributing mail/supplies/tickets, assembling print jobs, generating daily reports, helping ensure daily operations in the practice facility run smoothly, etc.)
- Assisting with executive needs (i.e. escorting guests, transporting of players/personnel, travel arrangements, picking up and delivering supplies, etc.)
- Assisting the scouting department with draft preparation, statistical research and analysis, and data entry.
- Help maintain the integrity of the basketball division’s data including daily and periodic cleaning, maintenance, updating, and management of team databases.
- Assisting the other departments as needed – Analytics, Training, Coaching, Video, Player Development, etc.
- While fulfilling tasks related to the internship, the intern is regularly required to sit at a desk for extended periods of time, stand, walk, and climb stairs and shall be able to exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- May be required to drive to complete internship tasks (if driving is necessary, a valid Driver’s License is required)

- Strong organizational skills with a robust attention to detail in regards both to checking data and visual presentation of deliverables
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
WHAT TO EXPECT
This position is a paid internship requiring students to receive college credit. The internship takes place in Indianapolis, IN and any relocation/moving expenses are the responsibility of the intern.
