Description:

The Athletic Department’s Search Committee seeks a Head Men’s Basketball coach with integrity, vision, and a commitment to the comprehensive development and success of the program and its individual student-athletes. A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ coaching experience (preferably at the NCAA Division l or comparable level) are required. In addition, the candidate should present the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to produce and lead a highly successful, championship level Men’s Basketball team;
  • Demonstrated commitment to the safety, welfare, personal development and academic success of student-athletes;
  • Demonstrated commitment to and compliance with the principles and bylaws of the NCAA, policies and procedures of the ACC, the University and the Athletic
  • Department, as well as a demonstrated record of ethical decision making and sound-level judgment within a fast-paced and competitive environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, lead, and hire a qualified staff of coaches;
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage effective relationships with prospective student-athletes, current student-athletes, university administrators, staff, alumni, donors, community, and other internal and external constituents.
  • Commitment to comply fully with the mission statements of the University and the Department. the Department’s Head Coach Philosophy Statement as well as the principles of “The Pitt Promise”

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

  • A minimum of 5 years’ coaching experience (preferably at the NCAA Division l or comparable level) is required. In addition, the candidate should present the following qualifications:
