Description: | Under general supervision, The Director of Operations, Men’s Basketball performs administrative duties as assigned by the Head and Assistant Men’s Basketball Coaches; operates the Men’s Basketball program with an atmosphere of compliance, integrity and within the scope and intent of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Conference and University regulations. The incumbent ensures that compliance-related activities and associated paperwork for Men’s Basketball is submitted in a complete and timely manner; prepares correspondence, email, calendars and mail; creates practice plans, travel itineraries and other program needs; organizes and plans all team travel (buses, airfare, meals, and lodging); orders all apparel and equipment for staff and team; liaises with sports Performance, Nutritionist, Event Management, Sports Medicine, Marketing and Sports Information; conducts class checks; works with the Matador Achievement Center; monitors holds and the registration process; communicates with the compliance office regarding initial and continuing eligibility, admissions, athletics financial aid and on-campus housing; responsible for arranging practice and shootaround times for visiting teams; arranges all pre and post-game meals; serves as Executive Assistant for Head Coach which includes maintaining his schedule and completing recruiting travel paperwork, scheduling all competitions for current and future seasons, coordinating all community service events and projects for student athletes, and assisting in planning recruiting visits (unofficial and official); coordinates all aspects of the “6th man club” (a booster group for the Men’s Basketball program); from conception, planning, and implementation; coordinates mailings and scheduling activities including marketing, social media as it relates to the development and communication with the Men’s Basketball fan base; works closely with the Athletics Development department for implementation; monitors 6th man club foundation account spend and balances; and performs other duties as assigned.
