After much speculation over the past few days, the Jamion Christian to Siena rumors are finally confirmed. Roger Wyland from WNYT jumped the gun a bit when he tweeted last Thursday that the Mount Saint Mary’s coach had been hired at Siena. At that point, Siena was still involved with at least two other coaches, and had not yet offered the job to Christian. The two sides finally came to terms on a deal late yesterday and a presser is expected at some point today.
Christian took over as the head coach at his alma mater back in 2012 and has gone 101-95 during his tenure there. Before returning to The Mount, Christian served as assistant to Shaka Smart at VCU, and also worked at William & Mary.
He replaces Jimmy Patsos who resigned back on April 13th.
More on this when it becomes official later today.
