Description: | This position will provide support to the Head Coach with all aspects of the men’s basketball program. Duties include but not limited to: Film Analysis Recruiting efforts which includes identification of prospective student-athletes (PSA), correspondence with PSAs throughout the year (emails, mailings, phone calls); PSA evaluations, PSA contacts, official visits, unofficial visits, recruiting services; admissions procedures; all compliance recruiting forms and/or logs; work directly with the video coordinator to assist in the editing of film and preparing the film to be shared with Coaching staff and team; and analyze the film from practices and competitions and provide schematic advice to the Head Coach as to offensive tendencies, defensive tendencies and practice outlines. Serve as Liaison Serve as the academic liaison for the men’s basketball program and work with the Student Support Services office regarding class schedules, class checks, tutoring appointments; assist head coach with communication between department staff members (i.e. strength and conditioning, academic advising, sports medicine, equipment & facilities, marketing and promotions, sports information, and MocsVision); assist head coach with daily communications with student-athletes, donor relations, community service and community engagement, camps and clinics; and maintaining forms and/or logs. Serve as the compliance liaison for the men’s basketball program and work with the Compliance staff regarding completing practice logs and other required NCAA paperwork; serve as the Athletic Performance liaison for the men’s basketball program and work with the Athletic Performance staff to ensure proper nutritional, strength and conditioning needs for the men’s basketball student-athletes; and serve as the Sports Medicine liaison for the men’s basketball program to ensure that proper communication is maintained between the Athletic Training staff, team physicians and coaching staff regarding men’s basketball student-athletes health and wellbeing.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with playing, coaching or serving on Men’s basketball staff on intercollegiate level; and ability to work well with others and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. |
