The Athletic Department at West Liberty University is in the process of hiring an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach/Game Administrator.  This is a, full-time, 11-month, exempt position.  This position includes a comprehensive benefit package with a tentative start date of June 25, 2018.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Scouting and recruiting of student-athletes
• Conditioning and player development skills
• Game and practice preparation and supervision
• Equipment inventory and tracking
• Making appropriate travel arrangements
• Coordinating academic issues for student-athletes
• Per NCAA Division II bylaw, coaches will be responsible to promote an atmosphere of compliance within the program and to monitor the activities regarding compliance of all assistant coaches and student-athletes involved with the program.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Knowledge, skills required in the area of collegiate athletics, specifically men’s basketball
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Excellent computer skills
• Knowledge of database management
• Knowledge of email and mail merge programs
• Good presentation skills
• Ability to multitask
• Perform all duties assigned by the head coach

Additional Information

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, or a related field
• Previous and relevant collegiate experience in men’s basketball
