Murray State head men’s basketball coach Matt McMahon announced his coaching staff for 2019-20 season.
McMahon is excited to have assistant coaches Shane Nichols, Tim Kaine and Casey Long return for a third straight season. This group has led the Racers to one of its most successful periods in program history. In the last two seasons, the Racers have a 54-11 record while winning back-to-back Ohio Valley Conference regular season and tournament championships leading to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances. In the Racers’ 2019 NCAA Tournament showing, they defeated Marquette 83-64 for the program’s fourth NCAA win.
McMahon also announced the addition of Ronrico White as the Director of Player Development. White was an assistant coach at Gardner-Webb last season on a team that won 23 games and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament. He spent the 2017-18 season as an assistant coach at Emory & Henry College.
White had an outstanding playing career at Chattanooga where he finished as the Mocs 14th all-time leading scorer. He also ranks among the top 10 in Mocs history in made 3-point baskets, made free throws, and assists.
White’s father, Tony, was an All-America guard at the University of Tennessee and his brother, Tony, Jr., played at the College of Charleston.
White graduated from Chattanooga in 2014 with a degree in business and communications.

He is a rising star in college basketball and will be a great mentor to our players in this role. He is a perfect fit for our culture here and we look forward to him making an impact on our program.”
Coach McMahon also announced the return of Video Coordinator Mike Chapman who will be in his second season with the Racers. Chapman came to MSU after spending two seasons at the University of Florida as their assistant video coordinator under the leadership of head coach, Mike White.
Chapman graduated from Florida in 2017 with a degree in agricultural communication specializing in communication and leadership development.
“Mike did an incredible job for us last season. I was very impressed with his work ethic, creativity, and his commitment to our program. We are extremely excited to reward him with this official title and look forward to him continuing his great work at Murray State.”
