Senior Nisré Zouzoua led six Nevada (13-8, 6-3 MW) players that scored in double figures with a Wolf Pack career-high 20 points as first-year head coach Steve Alford won his 600th game as the Pack defeated New Mexico (16-6, 5-4 MW). Alford’s record is 600-306 in his 29th season with 155 of those wins coming during his six seasons at UNM.
The Pack took control of the game in the first half building a 20-point advantage 49-29 at halftime. In the first half Nevada knocked down 9-of-16 three pointers and by the end of the night it would be 17-of-35. The 17 made 3s tied the school record and set a new Lawlor Events Center record.
With just under 9 minutes to play the Pack had increased its lead to 28 and settled for the 18-point victory. In addition to Zouzoua, Jalen Harris (19), Zane Meeks (13), Jazz Johnson (12), Lindsey Drew (10), and Johncarlos Reyes (10) scored in double figures.
Reyes posted his first double-double at Nevada grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds to go along with his 10 points. Harris finished with a game-high seven assists and Drew added six. Drew also had eight rebounds, a block and a steal.
The Pack dominated the glass outrebounding UNM by a season best 24, 50-26. Nevada’s bench outscored UNM 40-11. The Pack had 23 assists on 35 made field goals.

Head coach Steve Alford won his 600th career game tonight. Alford is 600-306 in 29 seasons as a college head coach. He won 155 games in six seasons as the head coach at New Mexico.
Nevada plays at Colorado State (14-7, 5-3 MW) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. PT. The Rams are playing at Utah State tonight.
The Wolf Pack tied the school record with 17 made 3-pointers and set the Lawlor Events Center record. The first occurrence of 17 made 3s was Nov. 18, 2017 at Pacific. The old LEC record was 16 versus San Jose State on Jan. 2, 2012.
For the first time Nevada had six players score in double figures this season; Nisré Zouzoua (20), Jalen Harris (19), Zane Meeks (13), Jazz Johnson (12), Linsey Drew (10) and Johncarlos Reyes (10). The last time six Pack players scored in double figures was versus New Mexico on Feb. 9, 2019. Johnson scored 13 in that game. Four players scored in double figures in the win over UNLV on Wednesday. Four times five players scored in double figures in a game this season.
It was Zouzoua’s first 20-point game at Nevada setting a new career high. He made a career-best six 3-pointers on just seven attempts. It was his ninth double figure scoring game of the season, second in a row and third in the last four games.
Reyes posted his first double-double at Nevada as he grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to go along with his 10 points. The 11 rebounds is tied with Harris for the top outing this season for a Wolf Pack player.
Harris has scored in double figures the last 17 games and 18 times on the season.
Johnson has scored in double figures a team-high 19 times this year. He made 4-of-9 from behind the arc marking the 15th time this season he has made three or more 3-pointers in a game.
Nevada outrebounded UNM 50-26. The plus 24 is a season best.
The Pack’s bench outscored UNM 40-11.
Nevada evened the overall series with the Lobos at 7-7. The Pack has won six of the last seven meetings.
All 11 players that dressed for the game played tonight.
The 96 points is the fourth time this year Nevada has scored over 90 points in a game.
