Southwest Baptist University Men’s Basketball Announces the Addition of Graduate Assistant Coach Derald Henderson

Southwest Baptist University Men’s Basketball Head Coach Clark Sheehy has announced the addition of Graduate Assistant Coach Derald Henderson to the Bearcat coaching staff. Prior to this position, Henderson spent the past four years teaching in the Stockton R-1 school district and serving as the Boys Basketball coach. At Stockton, Henderson coached the team to a 57-48 record over 4 years. The team won 19 games in the 2018-2019 season which was the most wins at Stockton since 2005. Stockton played for the District championship 2019-2020, their first district title appearance since 2014. 

Henderson was raised in Urbana, MO and graduated from Skyline High School in 2009. He earned his undergraduate degree from Missouri State University in 2014 (BSED History). 

“We are so excited to add Coach Henderson to our staff,” said Sheehy. “Having served as a head High School coach the past 4 years, he brings great coaching experience to our staff!  We are thrilled to welcome him to the Bearcat Family!!”

While at SBU, Henderson will be pursuing a Master’s Degree in Teacher Leadership.
