I can confirm that Tim Kisner is no longer the head men’s basketball coach at NAIA Oklahoma City University.
Kisner was hired last April after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at fellow Sooner Athletic Conference member John Brown University (AR). He also served as the head coach at NCAA D2 Fresno Pacific (2015-16), and spent six seasons as an assistant at Lake Superior State.
It’s been a tough time for coaches at Oklahoma City over the past few years. Stan Holt was hired as the head coach at OCU back in May of 2019. He lasted until December of that same year, when he was replaced on an interim basis by assistant Hank Aldous (who finished out the 2019-20 season before being replaced by Kisner).
OCU wrapped up the COVID-shortened 2021 season with a 2-6 (2-6 SAC) record. The Stars won NAIA D1 Men’s Basketball National Championships in 2008, 2007, 1996, 1994, 1992, and 1991.
More on this one as I hear it.
