Jesse Byrd has been named as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Randall University after five years at Champion Christian College in Hot Springs, AR. 

Byrd is an alumnus of Champion Christian College, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelors of Youth Ministry, and was a four year player for the Tigers and was a member of the 2010 National Championship team.

Coach started his coaching career in 2016 as an assistant coach. After serving as an interim head coach for the 17-18, and much of the 18-19 season. Leading the Tigers to a National Runner-Up finish and the first winning record in school history.  In 2019 he returned to the head assistant role, where he helped the Tigers to a school record 19-9 record and a NCCAA DII Southwest Region regular season championship. In 20-21, he helped the Tigers boast the 2nd ranked defense in the Nation holding teams to 70 points per game. While also serving as the assistant athletic director to go along with his roles as men’s assistant and sports information director.

Byrd is currently pursuing a Master’s of Organizational Leadership from York College of Nebraska.

Coach married his wife, Janna, in June of 2020.
