According to a report by Pete Thamel, long-time Notre Dame assistant coach Rod Balanis is expected to be named as the associate head coach at Howard.
Balanis started with Mike Brey at Notre Dame back in 2000 as the Director of Basketball Operations. He was bumped to assistant coach in 2003, and later associate head coach in 2016. Over the summer, he was reportedly moved back into an administrative role with the program.
The move will reunited Balanis with Howard head coach Kenny Blakeney. The two were teammates in high school at DeMatha under the legendary Morgan Wooten.
More on this when it becomes official.
